Matt and Heather Mendy
Here is a little information about Matt and Heather and how we met.
How We Met:
It all started with a match that was created on E Harmony. Yep, just like in the commercials, we started talking about two months before we met November 26, 2006. "Heather from Tacoma" had just run the Seattle half-marathon and was extremely sick with a case of bronchitis. She finally convinced herself to get out of bed and go meet "Matt from Puyallup". We met at Applebees and talked for about three hours, before moving across the street to Starbucks where the conversation lasted another couple of hours. The two hit it off from the instant that we met, but Matt still questioned Heather's choice of outfit. Did I mention that she had just ran a race in the rain, snow, and hail....not to mention she was VERY sick? Heather had told Matt that if we were still going to meet, we had to go comfortably casual. He agreed, but soon found out that our idea of casual was very different. Heather showed up in nice running pants, a nice fitted shirt, and a jacket. Matt was wearing jeans and a Beavers shirt and thought that Heather was "frumpy." He soon learned that she could clean up and his doubts about her ability to dress herself faded.
Matt stayed in Puyallup until January of 2008, when he was transfered to the Portland area. A long distance relationship was not what either person wanted, and in May of 2008, Heather got a job at Columbia River Mental Health to follow Matt. Life in Vancouver is going well. We still don't know that many people, but we are getting to know the area and feel like we are at home. The yard is coming along and we look forward to starting our lives together forever! Heather looks forward to getting thier first family pet upon returning from the honeymoon, to the dismay of Matt!!! Go Huskies!
